The Brain Imaging Lab in
Dartmouth-Hitchcock Psychiatry runs a yearly (or sometimes twice yearly) series of brain imaging
related seminars both to help acquaint trainees and staff with
imaging research fundamentals and to help facilitate research
collaboration opportunities. Our current default schedule is for
Fridays at 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. There is an email list
for this group that is
used for announcements and reminders. To be added, please send email
to BIL_imaging@listserv.dartmouth.edu
.
The focus and organizing theme of this imaging seminar is functional imaging of the human brain, but many modules have broader applicability, and insofar as it is possible we adjust the curriculum according to the interests of participants.
The didactic currently runs in weekly 90 minute sessions. The following is a typical curriculum.
Week | Topic | Notes |
---|---|---|
1 | Introduction to topics, MRI/fMRI overview | This is a standalone unit covering everything in 90 minutes |
2 | fMRI Preprocessing | |
3 | The General Linear Model (GLM) and single subject fMRI Analysis | |
4 | fMRI group level analysis and statistics | |
5 | BOLD and the biological basis of fMRI | |
6 | MR physics | |
7 | MRI acquisition, MRI Safety | |
8 | Diffusion Weighted Imaging | |
9 | Resting State fMRI |
