When you are ready to start using the map, click the Close button above to begin.
Pan and zoom the map to an area of interest. At coarse scale, the map overlays will show counties; as you zoom to finer scales, they will show more detailed Census tracts.
If you want to zoom to a particular street address, enter the address in the Search box at upper right.
Use the layer control at upper right to view overlays of population density, individual race/ethnicity categories, or other data layers.
You can use the Click tools panel at upper left to do the following:
- Show tract data: View the data for an individual tract, by clicking on the tract.
- Select tracts: Select a set of tracts for which to calculate the numerical indices.
- Unselect tracts: Remove a tract from the selection.
- Clear all: Clear all selected tracts and start over.
When you have selected all of the tracts you want to use in the indices calculation, click the Output results button.
